World Skills UK 2013 at The Skills Show

It is with great pleasure that we can announce that Mr Andrew Rennison, the Forensic Science Regulator, will be attending the closing ceremony of The Skills Show 2013.

Mr Rennison will present the winners medals at the ceremony on Saturday 16th November 2013 within the NEC.

The Forensic Science Regulator ensures that the provision of forensic science services across the criminal justice system is subject to an appropriate regime of scientific quality standards and as such has a valid interest into the education Forensic Science students receive in the UK.

C.P.D.M.S. Ltd is the official organising partner of the National Apprenticeship Services for the delivery of the World Skills UK competition in Forensic Science.

Competitors attended heats which were held in Bolton during June 2013 where they were subjected to three elements of competition. After external validation of the results by the NAS the highest placing students from across the competition were invited to attend the finals at the NEC.

During the heats and finals a team of eminent Forensic Scientists formed the judging panel and we thank them for their generous time and the efforts to ensure an open, honest and challenging competition.

The judges are Sue Carney (Ethos Forensics Ltd), Philip Boyce (Forensic Scientific Ltd) and Adam McCarthy (Aequitas Forensics Ltd).

Images from the heats are available on our website as well as the official Flicker site for the NAS.

More details on Mr Rennison and his role in Forensic Science in the UK can be obtained here.
