Small Business Saturday UK 2015 is launched

I had the privilege of visiting Downing Street as a member of the Top 100 Small Business Saturday UK companies in 2014.

The list for 2015 is out now and includes some companies from Greater Manchester.
What, you may ask, has this to do with me?
Well, you, yes you, are the reason small businesses are here.

They generate a huge bulk of the economy and employ a lot more people that the big multi nationals.

Not only that but I know my butcher, Craig, the local driving instructor Stephen and many more, but they also know me. And that personal service you just do not get anywhere else.

So, how can you get involved in Small Business Saturday UK 2015 if you are not one of the Top 100?

Everyone can help and get involved…

Some organisations are helping with child care on the day for free, so you can go shopping without the kids but on your local high street (are there any vouchers available to show you have visited the local high street instead of the big brands?) some are organising BBQ’s as we did last year with the help of Pattisons Family Butchers, Jenny Martin Photography, Homer School of Driving, Flowers by Cara and of course the Mossley Town Team.
Some are just going to do their shopping on their local high street instead and that is where it makes all the difference.

If we each spend £5 extra a week in our own high streets the result will see towns flourish and grow. Business will be plentiful and prices can be kept down. Why not try it? If you don’t usually have time to visit your high street make a change, go on, try it….

The full list of this years Top 100 Companies is here and you can visit the Small Business Saturday UK website to get posters and sign up your small business here.
