People often ask me what the best way to recover fingerprint marks is.

Well here you go.

This is one of the best web resources there is.

I have copied the front page only to ensure the original team who devised the program get their just rewards.

It takes a lot of time and effort to make something like this happen and I am not about to take it away from them.

Just because there is one type of fingerprint treatment listed, it might not be suitable for your evidence.

You may need to have a look and see what else is available first, and remember, non destructive before destructive for obvious reasons.

I ALWAYS ensure I photograph the evidence as it comes in to the lab.

This enables you to still see any details should it be discoloured or damaged during processing.

If the item is ever lost (which should NEVER happen) you will have a photographic record.
