I must pass my congratulations onto Mr Mervyn Richardson for his approval to be put forward to the office of DCoP.

I worked under mr Richardson and I must admit, his styles are unusual to say the least but he has had a lot of experience especially from the UK staff at SAUTT so should have a real grip on crime fighting… Good Luck Sir.

PSC picks Richardson for Deputy CoP

MERVYN RICHARDSON has been nominated by the Police Service Commission (PSC) to become this country’s new Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Richardson is an Assistant Commissioner of Police and is a former deputy director of investigations at the Special Anti-Crime Unit (SAUTT), a release from the PSC stated yesterday.

“The Police Service Commission informs members of the public that it has initiated the process of appointment of a new Deputy Commissioner of Police in accordance with the requirements of Legal Notice No. 102 of 2009,” a release from the PSC stated yesterday.

“In arriving at its decision, the Commission considered the Order of Merit List which it had established following its assessment of the candidates as prescribed by the Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police Selection Process Order 2009.

“Based on the Order of Merit List, the Commission wishes to announce that Mervyn Richardson is the candidate who has been nominated to His Excellency the President for submission to the House of Representatives for its approval.”
