DNA Conference & Body Fluids Forum
Date: 29-30 April
Venue: The Jury’s Inn Hotel,
The aim of the event is to share information in relation to
the latest developments in Body Fluid Identification/Interpretation and DNA
research. It will provide a forum of learning for forensic
biologists/practitioners and individuals working in DNA research and technology
and to meet and to discuss issues that affect these forensic disciplines.
Secure Southeast: an information security and cyber-resilience symposium
Date: 23 June
Venue: Portland Building, University of Portsmouth
The Society is
delighted to be organising this symposium in collaboration with the University
of Portsmouth. Aimed to discuss current and future challenges in
the areas of information security and cyber-resilience and explore suggested
solutions and best practices in the context of local and national cybersecurity
needs the event will be relevant to those working in public sector information
services, the banking sector, law enforcement, academics in relevant areas,
national security, cybersecurity and related governmental agencies.

Postgraduate Research Symposium
Dates: 5 November
Venue: The Renaissance City Centre Hotel,
successful event in 2014, The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences is
organising another general research focused event aimed specifically at MSc and
PhD students, and we are now accepting abstracts for posters and paper
presentations. Research relating to any aspect of forensic science is welcome.
for abstracts – The
symposium will give students a platform to present their research to the
forensic science community whist providing the opportunity to get valuable
feedback and network with other researchers. Abstract submissions are now
being accepted through the website.
Closing date for submissions is 26 June 2015.
Society’s Annual Autumn Conference & AGM
Dates: 5-6 November
Venue: The Renaissance City
Centre Hotel, Manchester
The Society is still seeking abstract submissions for workshops, oral presentations and poster
presentations covering the many varying disciplines of forensic science.
This includes, but is not limited to, evaluation and interpretation, trace
evidence, DNA, fingerprints, cyber forensics and anti-terrorism. Submissions
should cover and reflect topics and issues such as:
Effective investigative processes
Evaluation and interpretation of scientific
Location and identification of minute quantities
of trace evidence
Accident investigation and Scene reconstruction
Recording at the scene and within the lab
Mobile technology for scene and lab
Closing date is 30 April 2015. All submissions should
be made via the website.
